Steven J. Irwin was born in Washington, D.C. on February 3, 1955. He was admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 1983 and the Louisiana Bar in 2001. He is also admitted to practice before the Northern and Southern District Courts of Mississippi, the Eastern and Middle District Courts of Louisiana and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit. He received his education from the University of Southern Mississippi (B.S., 1976; M.S., 1981) and the University of Mississippi (J.D., 1983, Editorial Board, Mississippi Law Review). He is a former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana and is currently on faculty at the University of New Orleans teaching legal ethics and litigation. He is a member of the Mississippi and Louisiana State Bar Associations.
